Issues of integrating cultural plantings and bushland

 We are delighted to welcome Roger Lembit as our speaker for the August 16th AGM. Roger is a plant ecologist with particular expertise in the flora of the Blue Mountains.

His background covers working for the National Trust on the heritage significance of urban parks and the National Parks and Wildlife Service where he addressed issues associated with gardens and cultural plantings in conservation reserves around NSW. He was a member of the Blue Mountains Bushcare in the 1990s and is a member of an expert panel which considered the eucalypt diversity of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.

Roger has a wealth of information to share about the flora in the upper mountains. We are very excited to hear and learn about our very particular circumstances, the issues of combining the exotic plantings of the rhododendron garden with the natural bushland on our site.
